"Silver Ring Thing" is inspired by Kofi Annan's criticism
of the US for not giving more support to the global fight 
against AIDS. 

Bush's view is to promote abstinence over condom use - condom  
use is widely considered the best way to prevent the spread of AIDS.

The "Silver Ring Thing" is a sexual abstinence program designed 
for teenagers. Teens wear a silver ring to remind them of their
pledge of abstinence.
