Frequently Asked Questions about Art at Work

Q: How long is the class?
Approximately 2 to 3 hours.
Each person paints at their own pace. Some people finish in one hour and others spend 3 hours working on their painting. I stay until the last person is finished with their painting.

Q: How do you protect our tables from the paint?
I cover all of the table tops with plastic tarps.

Q: What about the carpet and chairs?
I do not cover the floors or the furniture. Some firms have their maintenance staff cover the floor with plastic prior to class, but that is rare. I've never had any trouble with carpet or furniture being damaged in any way.

Q: Can we take the paintings home after class?
Yes! We use acrylic paint in class which dries very quickly. Students can carry their paintings to their offices after class. I recommend leaving them there overnight to be sure they are completely dry. But, if they paint was not too thickly applied, students are able to bring them home that night.
A couple of firms have hosted art shows of the paintings the following day. It's a fun way for people to show off their masterpieces to the rest of the firm. One firm even has a contest for other members of the firm to guess who created which painting.

Q: What is included in the cost?
Paint, canvas, easels, paint brushes, palettes, smocks and painting instruction. Basically, everything the students need in order to create their works of art.

Q: Is there a minimum or maximum number of students?
There is no minumum student requirement. The maximum number of students usually depends on the size of the room you have to host the class.
For example, if your conference room seats 40 people, I can comfortably set up an Art at Work class for 20-25 students.

Q: Do you have references from law firms who have hired Art at Work?
Yes. Please email me (dana@danaellyn.com) for a list of references.
