The Year of Presidents
|
James Polk
During James Polk's presidency, his wife Sarah set a new style of entertainment. She did not allow any drinking or dancing and she regarded formal receptions as tedious. "Life of the Party" pokes a little fun at Sarah by placing her with a lamp shade on her head as the cliche representation of the life of the party.
