...31 days in july...
featuring the artistry of matt sesow and dana ellyn kaufman
Working with a diversity of artists from various backgrounds across the globe via the internet and in person, the two most extraordinary and dedicated fulltime artists I have come across are Washington, DC Artists Dana Ellyn Kaufman and Matt Sesow. In conjunction to their personal relationship with one another, selling their art, supporting each other's exhibit appearances as well as painting together on occasion, Dana and Matt maintain a healthy and positive lifestyle. They exemplify a romantic yet realistic and achievable notion of individuality and togetherness as they both work to attain their desired artistic accomplishments.
Dana and Matt have undertaken their first artistic collaboration "31 Days in July." Inspired by one daily headline from the nationally and internationally renowned newspaper, The Washington Post, each artist has visualized and captured each day of July 2003 in a total of 62 paintings.
Reflected through the diverse creativity and talent of these two local artists, each individual daily interpretation of national and global headline news will generate a visually provocative and emotionally stimulating historical account of their unique styles and changing moods. From micro to macro, their masculine and feminine insight will communicate a powerful connection between the individual in relation to his and her relationship with each other and their surrounding environment.
