Inspired by George Bellows' visceral boxing paintings of the early 1900s, this work transplants the brutality of the ring to the South Lawn of the White House, where the UFC octagon is being constructed and fight will be held on June 14, 2026. Two bare-foot fighters grapple under a massive patriotic arch as a leering crowd bears witness. Behind them, the floodlit White House stands small, quiet, and ignored.
