Red Cape is an abstract painting inspired by Dana Ellyn’s repeated trips to Barcelona for solo exhibitions at Galerie Artevistas—just off La Rambla. Reduced to a few decisive lines and a single red field, the composition draws from the visual language of the bullfight—horns, figure, and cape—translated into minimalist form.

The work reflects how place, memory, and cultural imagery can be distilled into gesture rather than narrative.
