What remains is not belief, but the performance of belief.

One woman is introspective. She warmly illuminates the scene with her candle which is finite and fragile. The other gestures to a phone on the ground which emits a cold, constant glow — an external identity that is immediate, distracting, and endlessly renewable.

Both figures are looking at an object that promises meaning without delivering it.

An absurdist meditation on conviction outliving its cause.
