$180
Šprotes — Riga's famous golden smoked sprats — usually arrive headless in the tin. Here two of them lie whole on a slab of dark rupjmaize (rye bread), eyes intact, with a red onion and a blue rudzupuķe (cornflower, Latvia's national flower, which grows wild in rye fields) on the garnish pick. Painted for the Meat Tax Festival in Riga, Latvia.
